Clinical Research Protocol and Data Monitoring 101: Definitions, Purposes and Best Practice Tips

The May 7, 2025, seminar of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Clinical Trials Community of Practice featured Loren Denlinger, MD, PhD, and Kristen Mahaffey, MA, CCRP. Dr. Denlinger is the William W. and Judith H. Busse Professor of Allergy & Asthma Research Professor in the Department of Medicine at the School of Medicine & Public Health. He also services as co-chair of the ICTR Data Monitoring Committee. Ms. Mahaffey is the the Central Monitoring Service Manager, FDA Regulated Research Oversight Program.
