How to Use Suno — Generating Single Instrument, No Full Band (Prompt Tutorial)

Suno V6 solo instrument generation — learn how to generate ONLY ONE instrument using prompting alone. This Suno V6 tutorial shows how to create solo guitar, solo piano, solo saxophone and other single-instrument performances without using Suno Studio. Suno naturally wants to create a complete musical arrangement, so simply asking for an “instrumental” or “solo” does not always produce a true one-instrument performance. In this experiment, I show the prompting approach I use to push Suno toward generating a complete performance with just one instrument. This is specifically a prompting-only workflow. I am not using Suno Studio, my own voice, or voice-to-instrument techniques to create the performances. What this video covers • How to structure the Suno V6 prompt for a single instrument • Using the Lyrics field and Styles field together • Why simply saying “instrumental” or “solo” is not enough • Using exclusions to remove genre-specific instruments • How AI can help turn a basic solo-instrument template into a more complete prompt • Testing the approach with different instruments and genres • Comparing Suno V6 and V6-Wild for solo instrument generation • How reliably Suno can generate a genuine one-instrument performance -- Solo instrument examples 🎹 Solo piano — house music 🎸 Solo slap guitar — 1980s funk 🎹 Solo organ — gospel/church style 🎹 Solo electric piano — 1980s romantic ballad 🪗 Solo accordion — French romantic style 🎤 1950s male a cappella group -- TIME STAMPS 00:00 - Introduction 01:29 - Easier with Suno Studio 02:10 - Must be on the Paid Version 02:52 - Prompt Crafting 05:22 - First Attempt - Salsa Piano 06:23 - Refining the Prompt 07:19 - Creating Skill for AI 10:32 - Demo: Piano (House Music) 11:45 - Demo: Slap Guitar (80s Funk) 12:21 - Demo: Organ (Gospel) 12:56 - Demo: Elec Piano 13:30 - Demo: Accordion 14:09 - Demo: 1950s Acapella 14:26 - Closing -- The basic idea is simple: tell Suno exactly which ONE instrument should perform, then actively exclude the instruments that the genre would normally introduce. This can be useful for experimenting with Suno solo guitar, Suno solo piano, Suno solo saxophone, Suno solo bass, Suno solo violin, instrument-only generation, one-instrument prompts and single-instrument music generation. #sunoai #suno #aimusic
