Our Second Karwa Chauth ❤️ A celebration of love, togetherness and growing old together! Dev is a Sikh, and I’m a Garhwali Pahadi, and interestingly, Karwa Chauth isn’t traditionally celebrated in either of our cultures. But we have always found this festival beautiful, and over time, we’ve created our own little way of celebrating it. For us, Karwa Chauth is not about rituals, restrictions or blindly following traditions. It’s about taking one day out of our busy lives to celebrate each other, make efforts, show love, pamper one another and spend some uninterrupted quality time together. We also believe that if fasting is considered a symbol of love and prayers for your partner’s long life, why should it be only a woman’s responsibility? We fast together because marriage is about growing old together, not one person making all the sacrifices. ❤️ In this vlog, come spend our second Karwa Chauth with us! From waking up at 4 AM and cooking together, enjoying a romantic candlelight meal, getting ready, applying mehendi, performing our little puja and listening to the Karwa Chauth Katha, to sharing our thoughts on traditions and finally heading out for a dinner date with pizza and momos! This vlog also includes a little glimpse of my laser hair reduction appointment and our everyday lifestyle moments. We don’t believe that a fast determines someone’s lifespan. We believe in love, mutual efforts, equality, good health and making beautiful memories together. Because at the end of the day, festivals should bring people closer, relationships should feel special, and life should be celebrated together.
