Horsleydown Old Stairs = A tour of historic Bermondsey. Filmed on Wednesday 24th July 2024. Join me over the river, for a tour of historic Bermondsey = Where we begin, at What was once Pickle Herring Street "Known as London's Larder." We then make our way onto Shad Thames (London's Longest Street) + with many of its original dock/warehouse buildings & connecting gangways, still remaining. We then head to the main feature of our tour = Horsleydown Old Stairs. Walk through the archway of the old Courage Brewery, with me, for an amazing view of Tower Bridge + getting to walk underneath the bridge itself. A walk along Horsleydown foreshore "with great views of The Tower of London = Tower Bridge + up - down & across Old Father Thames. We really get to walk amongst history here = with lots of little remnants of the past, just lying on the foreshore. Then lastly, we head off into the past = With a history of Horsleydown & "where its interesting name, is believed to come from." + A history & old images of Horsleydown - Pickle Herring Street + some great old photos of Towers Bridge, from Horsleydown Old Stairs.
