Unlike nearly every other person reviewing the ID.Polo, I may well be putting my money where my mouth is and placing an order, but might just have to wait a little bit longer.... Fuel saving calculation: At time of filming, unleaded is on average 176.9 pence per litre This equates to £8.03 per gallon An average Polo type car will do 40 mpg which is £20.08 per 100 miles / £200.80 per 1000 miles The ID.Polo can do 4.5 miles per kWh which can cost 8p This equates to £17.78 per 1000 miles, a saving of £183 per month The fuel price may reduce if peace ever returns to the middle east, but the savings are so great that it will barely make a dent. What we do need to watch is what the government plans to do to make up for the loss of fuel duty, charging per mile has been suggested but how much they will charge will be crucial. All I can say is enjoy this period of cheap electric motoring while you can.
