A Russian turtle tank sat nose-down in an anti-tank ditch near Myrnohrad on the Donetsk front, and the armored column behind it had nowhere to go but closer.
Why would Ukraine leave a trapped tank alone, and what were the Russians about to be forced to do?
Near the village of Razine, northeast of Myrnohrad, on December 2, 2025, Russian armored vehicles led by up-armored "turtle tanks" pushed across an open field under low fog, trying to close the corridor out of town. According to Euromaidan Press, the attackers were from Russia's 40th Naval Infantry Brigade. Ukraine's 7th Air Assault Corps said one of the tanks got stuck in an anti-tank ditch, after which the column was quickly brought under fire control. Drone operators of the corps' SKY STRIKE Unit, working with the 68th Jaeger Brigade, struck the vehicles; the corps' video shows two tanks destroyed, and Euromaidan Press reported three tanks and eight other armored vehicles knocked out.
This video looks at why Ukraine didn't hit the stuck tank right away, and why jammers, welded steel shells and smoke screens all failed to save the column.
Analytical reconstruction based on public reporting; the exact timeline, drone numbers, vehicle-by-vehicle sequence, defensive systems and crew actions are dramatized for clarity.
💬 Your lead tank is stuck in a ditch: tow it out and open the shell, or abandon it and take the column across an uncleared field?
