Ignatius of Antioch // The Retrieval Podcast // Episode 9

Welcome to the Retrieval Podcast, a podcast on Church History where we're retrieving the Church of the past for the Church of today. Hosted by Dr. Andy Nichols, professor of Church History and Historical Theology at Ozark Christian College and Lincoln Seminary, and co-hosted and produced by Ben Jones, associate pastor at Gateway Christian Church, we explore the teachings of the ancient church, talking about how they can help us better love Jesus today. Today we talk about the contributions of Ignatius of Antioch - one of the three apostolic fathers. As a student of the Apostle John, Ignatius ardently defends the full humanity and divinity of Jesus as a cornerstone for our salvation. He also has a lot to say on the Church - how its structured, and what makes communion valid. Is he right or wrong? Tune in and find out! #churchhistory #communion #Eucharist #Christianity #Churchfathers #patristics
