ഏഴ് ദിവസത്തിനകം ഹോര്‍മുസ് കടലിടുക്ക് തുറക്കാമെന്നുള്ള ഇറാന്റെ സമാധാന നിര്‍ദേശം അമേരിക്കന്‍ പ്രസിഡന്റ് ഡോണള്‍ഡ് ട്രംപ് തള്ളി. തങ്ങള്‍ക്കുണ്ടായ വന്‍ സാമ്പത്തിക നഷ്ടം നികത്താനാണ് ഹോര്‍മുസ് തുറക്കാമെന്ന വാഗ്ദാനവുമായി ഇറാന്‍ എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നതെന്ന് ട്രംപ് അഭിപ്രായപ്പെട്ടു. ഹോര്‍മുസ് കടലിടുക്കിന്റെ പൂര്‍ണ്ണ നിയന്ത്രണം നിലവില്‍ അമേരിക്കയ്ക്കാണെന്ന് അവകാശപ്പെട്ട അദ്ദേഹം ഇറാന്‍ ഇപ്പോള്‍ മുന്നോട്ടുവച്ച സമാധാന ഉപാധികള്‍ അംഗീകരിക്കാന്‍ തയ്യാറല്ലെന്നും കൂട്ടിച്ചേര്‍ത്തു. ഇതോടെ മേഖലയില്‍ വീണ്ടും സംഘര്‍ഷ സാധ്യത വര്‍ധിക്കുമോ എന്നത് കണ്ടറിയണം. അമേരിക്കന്‍ നിലപാടിന് പിന്നാലെ വ്യോമ ഉപരോധത്തിനെതിരെ സൈനിക നടപടിക്ക് ഇല്ലെന്ന് ഇറാനും വ്യക്തമാക്കി. മറ്റ് രാജ്യങ്ങളോട് ഇളവ് ആവശ്യപ്പെടുമെന്നും മറ്റ് നടപടികള്‍ ആലോചിക്കുമെന്നും ഇറാന്‍ വ്യക്തമാക്കി. US President Donald Trump has rejected Iran’s proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within seven days. Trump said Iran had made the offer in an attempt to recover from the heavy economic losses it had suffered. He also claimed that the United States currently has full control over the Strait of Hormuz and said he was not prepared to accept the peace terms put forward by Iran. Following the US position, Iran has stated that it does not intend to take military action against the air blockade. Iran said it would seek exemptions from other countries and consider other measures.
