When Your Greatest Strength Becomes Your Biggest Insecurity (All 9 Enneagram Types)

Tannah and Holly open the Enneagram Adventure podcast with brief life updates (fall season, a Beatrice Chestnut episode going live, Botox and tattoo/needle-appointment birthday traditions) and a disclaimer that the Enneagram measures core motivation, not just behavior. They dive into insecurities and how “anything in excess becomes a weakness,” sharing a catalyst from a session with Brandon, their somatic performance coach, about the same insecurity (not being good enough) showing up in opposite ways. They walk through each Enneagram type’s strengths turning into liabilities when unconsciously used for protection: 8 doubling down on status/control, 2 over-caring and suppressing anger, 3 chameleoning into self-deceit, 4 getting stuck in heavy emotion, 5 withdrawing to overthink and stop expressing needs, 6 over-questioning and preparing, 7 avoiding pain with optimism, 9 avoiding conflict and needs, and 1 becoming overly critical. They close with quotes about choosing vs needing strengths and invite listeners to subscribe, share, and join their upcoming “one to 100” lineup. 00:00 Cold Open With Dogs 00:40 Life Updates And Needles 02:12 Podcast Intro And Disclaimer 03:07 Why Insecurities Show Up 05:40 Type Eight Doubling Down 10:27 Type Two Overgiving 12:03 Birthday Tangent And Eggs 17:42 Types Three And Four 22:32 Types Five And Six 26:27 Types Seven And Nine 30:25 Type One Perfection Trap 32:34 Key Takeaways And Wrap UpEmail the Podcast : enneagramadventure@gmail.com Follow us:   / enneagramadventure   https://www.tiktok.com/@enneagram.adv... https://pin.it/5vmAb7ZQQ https://substack.com/@enneagramadventure Listen to the Pod Here: https://open.spotify.com/show/7A3DMdi... https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast... https://www.pandora.com/podcast/ennea... https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/b1d...
