#nirvana #grunge #guitarcover #mustang #lespaul Today we are gonna celebrate New Year 2025 by cover of show that was day before new year because it has good audio for me to hear Kurt and Pats tone. What I was surprised about is that Pats guitar in mix is almost louder that Kurts. Pats guitar is little bit scooped and has lot of Hi end. Kurts has lot of mids and bass in his tone. Also I tried to match their outfits on this show. Since we don´t have Pats photo I had to quess that he wears again his black tshirt or his sweater and red pants. I don´t have any red pants so I couldn´t wear that. Kurt´s tone: Squier Classic Vibe Mustang (bridge pickup: Wilkinson neck Hot Rail) Line6 HX Stomp Chain: ProCo Rat -- Chorus -- Vox AC30 -- Graphic EQ -- Vintage 30 + G12T-75 IRs -- Hall Reverb Kurt used Masrhall Vintage 30 loaded cabs on In Utero tour so I used UK Vintage 30 IR and it turned out ok. I used graphic EQ to boost mids (mainly 500Hz and 1kHz) and bass for Kurts guitar. For clean I used low gain clean tone to replicate his crispy cleans. Pat´s tone SX Les Paul (HS mod) Line6 HX Stomp Chain: ProCo Rat -- Feedbacker -- Chorus -- Vox AC30 -- Graphic EQ -- Creamback 75 + G12T-75 IRs -- Hall Reverb For Pats feedbacking I used Feedbacker in HX Stomp that is copy of Digitech FreqOut. Pat apparently for In Utero tour got Kurts Marshalls from Nevermind tour so I used IRs that I previously used on Nevermind tour covers. I used graphic EQ to boost Hi end (mainly 2kHz and 4kHz) for Pats bright guitar. For clean tone I used little bit more gain to give more punch on distorted tone. I used graphic equalizers in post production to cut some frequencies out. Cheers Nirvana... Happy New Year 2025 everyone!
