The Surge - Ghost in a Machine Trophy/Achievement Guide (Alec Norris and Maddy's Quest Line)

Note: I'd like to preface this video by saying that I'm playing on the PS4, so i keep calling it trophies in the video. But you can follow the same methods to get the achievements on Xbox One. In this one I’ll be showing you guys how to unlock the Ghost in a Machine trophy/achievement. In order to unlock this trophy/achievement, you will have to complete the quest line involving Alec Norris and his daughter Maddy. You can first meet Alec at the Medbay in Research and Development. He will ask you to look for his daughter. Agree to look for her. Carry on with the story till you go through a tunnel and fall into a room with a broken window on the left. This is the room in which you can fight your first Proteus unit enemy. This enemy has to be killed twice for it to stay down. Jump out the hole in the window and follow the path on the rafter all the way to the other side on the right. Here you will see another hole through the window. Go through the window and deal with the 2 enemies in the room, and another enemy in the adjacent hallway. You can find Maddy in the room to the left in the hallway. Talk to her, and tell her that her father is looking for her, and that you are here on his behalf. Now head back to the Medbay and you will find Alec and Maddy there. He will say that Maddy needs a spare leg from a similar robot. You know what that means. Head back to the Central production B area and fight the robots that looks similar to Maddy. Make sure to target the legs, and strike that part alone. Eventually one will drop the leg you are looking for. Take the leg back to Alec, and he will thank you. That’s pretty much it for now till you head to the Nucleus. Once you reach the Nucleus through normal story progression, you can find Alec in the Medbay. He mentions that he got separated from Maddie again. So you’ll have to look for here. While going through the Nucleus area, you will have to get to the third level. You can move the Medbay to the third level. Once you do, exit the Medbay and look to the right. There is a red platform below the Medbay. Drop onto the red platform and follow the path. You will have to go through a series a tunnels till you end up in a room with a Chrysalis enemy. Deal with it and take the lift up. Eventually you will end up in a tunnel that leads you to a small area where Maddy is located. Interact with her to get her necklace. Now get back to Alec and give him the necklace. Make sure to let him know that Maddy is dead, and the trophy will unlock. Choosing the other option will not get you the trophy. Timeline: 1) Meet Alec Norris for the first time (Medbay of Research and Development) - 0:00 2) Find Maddy (Research and Development) - 0:44 3) Talk to Alec and Maddy (Medbay of Research and Development) - 2:05 4) Find a Robotic leg for Maddy (Central Production B) - 2:47 5) Give Robotic Leg to Alec and Maddy (Medbay of Research and Development) - 3:26 6) Talk to Alec (Medbay of Nucleus) - 3:54 7) Find Maddy (3rd Floor of Nucleus) - 4:44 8) Give necklace to Alec (Medbay of Nucleus) - 7:01 Hope this helps, and stay tuned for more!
