Meghalaya Travel Vlog Part 1 | Jowai, Moopun Waterfall, Umbyrlein Falls & Kamakhya Temple | Northeast India What happens when a last-minute Meghalaya trip starts with a "6-hour delayed train, an 8-hour wait for Kamakhya darshan, and a scooter ride into one of Meghalaya’s lesser-explored regions?" This is the beginning of our Meghalaya adventure. In "Meghalaya Travel Vlog Part 1", we travel from "Kolkata to Siliguri", take the train towards Guwahati, visit "Kamakhya Temple", pick up our scooter, and finally enter Meghalaya through "Jowai in the West Jaintia Hills". Jowai was our first Meghalaya stop—and it turned out to be one of the most beautiful and underrated parts of the trip. From scenic mountain roads and quiet villages to hidden waterfalls, this journey was all about exploring Meghalaya beyond the usual tourist circuit. Meghalaya Tourism describes Jowai as the cultural heart of the Jaintia Hills, surrounded by natural beauty and attractions. Our first waterfall stop was "Moopun Waterfall", followed by "Umbyrlein Falls in Rangad Village", where we ended the day watching the sunset surrounded by Meghalaya’s incredible landscape. This episode is all about the "journey, the roads, the unexpected delays, hidden waterfalls, scooter adventures, and the first glimpse of the Land of Clouds". And this is only Part 1.
