LOOP - Short Film A PAST THAT WON'T STAY BEHIND "A group of college freshmen reunite after a year apart, only to discover that their personalities have drastically shifted, leading them on a journey through time as they strive to reconnect and find purpose together." Synopsis: In Loop, a group of friends, reunited after their first year of college, struggle to reconnect as their personalities have been shaped by time spent in different worlds. When an unsettling series of events begins to unfold, they are forced to confront eerie, unexplained phenomena tied to time itself. As reality starts to unravel, the lead character must learn to move beyond the fleeting distractions of the present and uncover a deeper truth hidden within the repeating moments that refuse to stay buried. DISCLAIMER: No AI was used in the making of this film. In the summer of 2022, I took on one of the most challenging and rewarding projects of my career: creating my own narrative short film from the ground up. From writing the script and scouting locations to casting actors, coordinating schedules, directing, filming, capturing audio, editing, and promoting the final project, every part of the process was independently led and executed by me. The experience pushed me creatively and professionally, teaching me invaluable lessons in storytelling, leadership, problem-solving, and production. I’m incredibly grateful for how much this project shaped my growth as a filmmaker. The film went on to receive recognition at multiple film festivals, including a First Place award at the Illinois Central College Film Fest and a Semi-Finalist placement at the Chicago Amarcord Arthouse Television Awards. I also had the opportunity to screen the film for a live audience at the Chicago Tabernacle Theater. Creating this film reminded me why I love visual storytelling and continues to inspire the work I create today.
