In this conversation, Marie Deveaux and Katherine Turner explore the story, vision, and purpose behind the Women Reimagining Leadership Movement—and the need for new ways of thinking about leadership that are identity-affirming, values-driven, and rooted in the realities of women’s lives. Marie and Katherine will share the personal leadership experiences that inspired the movement, what they’re hearing from women leaders, and why reimagining leadership requires more than individual change—it requires us to challenge the systems, expectations, and definitions of leadership themselves. Katherine Turner, MPH, is a leadership coach, organizational transformation strategist, public speaker, board leader, and global equity champion who has worked in English, French, and Dutch in more than 50 countries spanning five continents. As Founder and President of Global Citizen, LLC, she partners with purpose-driven organizations to develop high-performing leaders and teams who successfully navigate complexity, create cultures of inclusive excellence, align vision, mission, values, systems, strategies, and culture, and drive social impact. As an Adjunct Professor of leadership, intercultural competence, and global health equity at UNC-Chapel Hill and a visiting lecturer at universities worldwide, Katherine bridges scholarship and practice and prepares the next generation for high-impact global leadership. She authored the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Intercultural Competence in Leadership chapter for a public health and healthcare leaders textbook taught in universities worldwide. Katherine innovates leadership models for transformational change, including Global Citizen, LLC’s Global Competence Model, Values Clarification for Action and Transformation, and the Queer Transformational Leadership Framework.TM Katherine has held senior leadership positions and founded and led the board of directors at numerous organizations. She provides strategic direction on global advisory committees, was selected as a Women Leaders for the World Fellow, and won awards for her leadership, teaching, and advocacy.
