2026-07-12 - The Parable of the Sower

This week are considering one of Jesus 'fairly well-known parables, The Parable of the Sower and the Seeds. The seed is the amazing gospel message, and the different kinds of soil represent four different responses to this message. He urges his listeners to use their ears and listen. Listen and take the message to their hearts. But it depends on the state of the heart as to whether the message takes root and bears fruit. We might consider the current state of our hearts and if they are receptive to what God has to say to us. There are things that we can do to keep our hearts in good condition. Just like our physical hearts need exercise, our spiritual hearts need spiritual exercise: prayer; reading our bibles; time to be with God and time to fellowship with others. Take some time for a heart check-up this week.
