Knives Out: Rewriting the Mystery Genre

Subscribe to help me reach 200K! As a fan of the mystery genre, modern Who Dun It’s scare me. (if there was a murder, then there must be a murderer) There’s only so much you can do with this type of story, and it seemed for a time, that all the options were exhausted. There were only a number of different ways the story could go, have the murderer be the person you most suspect, which is boring, the person you least suspect, which worked for a while, but then became the most obvious answer. So that really only left you with (The most medium person I suspect) But in 2019, along came a modern who dun it that defied all expectations, and that movie was Knives Out.
