FILMY MAA ticket link: https://in.bookmyshow.com/events/illu... What exactly is TIME? We experience time every single moment — we watch clocks move, we grow older, memories form, and events seem to happen from the past toward the future. But when we look deeper into physics, one of the strangest questions appears: Is time actually a physical thing? Or is time something that emerges from the way we experience and describe change? In this video, we explore the concept of time from physics, thermodynamics, entropy, relativity, quantum mechanics, philosophy, and our everyday experience. Before diving into the science, the first 0–4 minutes of the video is a personal discussion about content creation, social media, the pressure of constantly creating, and the possibility of leaving content creation. After that, the discussion turns toward one of the biggest mysteries in science: TIME. We explore why time feels like something that is constantly flowing, whether the past and future actually exist, and why the laws of physics create such a strange relationship between time and reality. What is Time? Is time a dimension like space? Is time something that exists independently of the universe? Why do we experience a “past” and a “future”? And why does time appear to move in only one direction? Time and Entropy One of the most important ideas in understanding the arrow of time is entropy. The laws of physics at a fundamental level often do not distinguish strongly between forward and backward time. Yet our everyday world clearly does. A glass can fall and shatter, but we never see the pieces spontaneously come together and jump back onto the table. Why? This takes us into thermodynamics, entropy, statistical mechanics, probability, and the arrow of time. We discuss why the increase of entropy is connected with our experience of time and whether entropy actually creates the direction of time — or simply explains why we perceive a particular direction. Einstein, Relativity and Time With Einstein’s theory of relativity, our traditional idea of time changes completely. Time is not necessarily the same everywhere. Time can pass differently depending on motion and gravity. This leads to the idea of spacetime, where space and time are connected rather than being completely separate entities. We also discuss time dilation, special relativity, general relativity, gravity, spacetime, and the relationship between space and time. Is the Present Real? Another strange question: Does only the present exist? Or do the past, present and future somehow coexist? This takes us toward the philosophical and physical idea of the block universe, where spacetime can be viewed as a complete four-dimensional structure rather than something that is constantly being created moment by moment. We also explore questions about free will, causality, determinism, consciousness, memory, and our perception of time. Does Time Exist at the Quantum Level? When we enter the world of quantum mechanics, the story becomes even stranger. What happens to time when we look at reality at its most fundamental level? Why is time treated differently from space in our current physical theories? And why does the search for a theory of quantum gravity raise profound questions about whether time itself is fundamental? From Newton’s absolute time to Einstein’s spacetime, from thermodynamics and entropy to modern ideas about quantum gravity, this video explores why time remains one of the deepest mysteries in physics.
