It Takes a Ranger

Every day, rangers choose a life of service. It takes courage to patrol remote landscapes. It takes resilience to face uncertainty. It takes compassion to build trust, curiosity to keep learning, and commitment to show up, day after day, in service of people and nature. Created to mark World Ranger Day, It Takes a Ranger is a tribute to the people behind the uniform and to every ranger across Africa whose dedication helps conserve some of the continent's most important protected areas. We remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to conservation. Their courage, commitment and sacrifice will never be forgotten. To every ranger, thank you.
