Is This Cabin Our Anniversary Present? (Maybe.)

We planned it on the couch: leave at 4 a.m., bring hiking boots, walk the property line. So we did. Before sunrise we drove into West Virginia.. through fog, down a creek road, to look at a little log cabin on ten acres. Maybe an anniversary present. We'll see. Then: a small-town stop in Thomas, a very serious candle review, an antique shop, the haul, and our honest verdict on the drive home. We don't like super flat.
