There is probably a conversation you've been avoiding. You know what you need to say.
You've rehearsed it in your head.
You've imagined how the other person might react.
You've told yourself you'll do it tomorrow.
And somehow...tomorrow never comes.
But why?
Why do intelligent, capable people avoid conversations they know they need to have?
Is it fear of conflict?
Fear of rejection?
Fear of hurting someone?
Or is something deeper happening inside us before we even open our mouths?
In this video, we explore why difficult conversations feel so difficult and what may actually be happening when you choose silence, delay or avoidance.
You will learn how to:
✔ Understand why you avoid certain conversations
✔ Recognise the difference between healthy postponement and habitual avoidance
✔ Identify what you may really be protecting
✔ Notice what your mind predicts before a difficult conversation
✔ Understand why avoiding discomfort can create a bigger problem later
✔ Begin identifying your own avoidance pattern
This isn't about becoming confrontational. It's about becoming aware.
Because before you can change the way you handle difficult conversations, you need to understand what happens before the conversation even begins.
Try this before you leave:
Think of one conversation you've been avoiding.
Then ask yourself:
What am I afraid might happen if I have this conversation?
And then ask yourself something even more important:
What might happen if I don't?
Drop your answer, or simply the word that describes what you're avoiding, in the comments.
