2016 May 25 - Weekly Race Series Sundance XC Mountain Bike Race

This is my helmet cam video of the Weekly Race Series cross country mountain bike race at Sundance Resort, Utah, on May 25, 2016. This race was 2 laps, totaling about 10.2 miles with 1,630 feet of climbing. This was one of the few times I got to do a Wednesday race without having a Tuesday race the evening before. The first lap I felt pretty tired and sluggish and I had a lot of stomach problems, but the second lap I did a much better job pacing myself and I got a second wind of energy. I was able to ride reasonably hard the second time around and ended up doing better than I thought I would. This race was my second time ever riding Shimano Di2. I was again testing a Fezzari Timp Peak with XTR Di2, but this time I was on a much steeper course and this is where this bike really shined. I have raced many times over the years at Sundance, but this bike was the most fun I have raced on here. The electronic shifting made everything so much easier so I found myself shifting constantly to get in that right gear, and there was never a missed shift or any sort of drivetrain problem. Best of all, I beat almost all of my friends. http://mormon.org/me/B2SJ/Ian http://www.fezzari.com/ http://utahmountainbiking.com/ http://weeklyraceseries.com/ Filmed by Ian Beaty
