Kobe Day Trip from Osaka | Herb Garden Ropeway, Nunobiki Falls & Affordable Michelin Star Kobe Beef

A full day trip from Osaka to Kobe: up the Shin-Kobe Ropeway, through the Nunobiki Herb Gardens, down past Nunobiki Falls on foot, and then the Kobe beef lunch we'd booked ahead. Plus one mistake I'd undo if I could. LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE We bought a ONE-WAY ropeway ticket and walked down. Buy the round trip if you are pressed for time. The walk down is beautiful but it's long, it's steep, and it very nearly cost us our lunch reservation — I spent a solid stretch of this video convinced we'd be hiking for seven hours. (We weren't. It's about an hour and fifteen. Check it in your maps app before you panic like I did.) THE REST • Late November at the Nunobiki Herb Gardens means a CHRISTMAS MARKET and Christmas lights at the top. Fall colour was only partly in. The foot bath wasn't running. • The detour down to Nunobiki Falls is worth it. Both of us said so out loud, which doesn't happen often. • Kobe beef lunch was teppanyaki, multi-course, and some of the best steak I have ever eaten — crust on the outside, buttery in the middle. I booked it by DM on Instagram. • The desserts back in Osaka are shaped like baby boots, a cushion and mittens, they're custard-filled, and they're so much lighter than they look. • Best thing we learned all day, from our Kyoto food tour guide: in Japan, chain restaurants have a reputation for being the GOOD ones. A restaurant only gets to expand if the food is genuinely good. Stop skipping the chains. • Fair warning: there is a blister in this video and I do show it to you.
