12 Mistakes Later… My First Cutting Board | Almost Ruined It

My first cutting board looked ridiculously simple to make on YouTube. Cut some hardwood, glue it together, sand it, add oil. What could possibly go wrong? Quite a lot, apparently. This was my first attempt at turning walnut and oak into something I'd actually want to use — with no blueprint, very little experience, and a growing collection of lessons involving glue, planers, cavities, routers, sanding and several questionable decisions. This isn't a tutorial. It's another chapter of Learning Woodcraft at 47 — learning woodworking by actually making things, getting things wrong, fixing them and trying again.
