Carved during the 2nd century BCE under the Satavahana dynasty, these caves served as a place of meditation and residence for Buddhist monks. The site features a grand Chaitya Hall, 14 stupas, intricate carvings, and ancient water cisterns. Bhaje Caves are located near Lonavala, about 60 km from Pune and 95 km from Mumbai. You can reach here by train via Lonavala or Malavli railway station. From Malavli station, it's a 3 km trek to the caves.
