Oral History Interview with Mack Brock

Mack Brock was a longtime resident of the Brocktown community in Wilkes County, North Carolina, and a local community leader and craftsman. He co-founded Brock and Triplett Machine Shop near the Reddies River Dam in North Wilkesboro in 1961 and was active in the Brocktown and Moravian Falls communities for many years. In this video, Brock discusses his years of service in the U.S. Navy during World War II, including his time aboard the USS Fall River and his travels to Cuba. He also talks about his friendship with Vietnam War veteran Jack Brock. At the time of the interview, Mack Brock lived on Brocktown Road. The Save Our Wilkes County History Committee was appointed by the Wilkes County Commissioners in 2006 to preserve, protect, and present the rich history of Wilkes County.
