In today’s video, I’m taking you into the heart of authentic rural and nomadic life in Iran, where gardening, taking care of farm animals, traditional construction, growing vegetables, and cooking simple local food are all part of everyday life. 🏡🌿
Today was a busy day around the rural home and garden, and I had two important things to do.
🌳 First, I went to the garden and pruned several trees and cleaned and prepared part of the land for planting seasonal vegetables. To keep the chickens and chicks away from the vegetable garden and prevent them from damaging the fresh plants, I built a simple wooden pallet fence around the area.
During the work, I also took a break to check on the chickens and farm animals and take care of them. Rural life is not only about gardening and cooking; taking care of animals and looking after them every day is an important part of a simple and self-sufficient rural lifestyle. 🐔🐓🌿
🔥 After that, I went back to the final stage of building the traditional clay oven.
Using mud and straw, I added the final layer to the oven wall and carefully smoothed and leveled the rim to give the oven a cleaner and more finished shape. Now I need to leave it for several days so the clay can completely dry and become strong.
This traditional clay oven has been built using traditional methods and natural materials, and it will be used for baking homemade local and traditional village bread. Building a clay oven is not a one-day project; each stage needs to be completed carefully, with enough time for the clay to dry and strengthen.
🍅🥔 By the time I finished all this work, it was almost noon, so it was time to prepare lunch.
For lunch, I decided to make an extremely simple rural dish using just two main ingredients: tomatoes and potatoes.
First, I diced the potatoes and fried them on the traditional clay stove. Then, I grated fresh tomatoes and placed them on the clay stove until the tomato liquid reduced and the tomatoes became thicker.
After that, I added the fried potatoes to the tomatoes and seasoned everything with salt and spices. I let it cook for a few more minutes so the ingredients could combine and the flavors could develop.
🌿 Finally, I served this simple and delicious rural meal with fresh herbs from my garden and enjoyed a traditional homemade lunch in the peaceful countryside.
