Camping Deep in the Chippewa National Forest | Off-Grid Trout Lake Adventure with Toby In this video, Toby and I head deep into the wilds of the Chippewa National Forest for an unforgettable remote camping adventure. The trail into our campsite was long, narrow, and rugged—definitely a job for four-wheel drive—but the effort was worth it. At the end of the trail, we discovered a stunning, secluded campsite nestled right along the shores of a trout-filled lake. After settling in, I set out to catch lunch—and it wasn’t long before I landed a beautiful trout to cook up by the fire. Later, we hit the nearby North Country Trail for a scenic hike through the peaceful forest, taking in all the sights and sounds of the Northwoods. As the sun began to set, we cooked supper over the campfire, enjoying the simplicity and beauty of backwoods living. When the night air turned cool, we found safety and shelter in the comfort of our truck camper. This trip had it all—adventure, solitude, a trusty dog by my side, and some of the best that Minnesota's wilderness has to offer.
