TAILLIGHT Four red lights in the fog. She leans on the back of the car and waits for no one. A red fog fills the whole frame. A 90s-style Japanese sports car sits at a rear three-quarter angle, big rear wing up, four round taillights glowing red, their light spilling across the wet road. She leans against the rear fender with her arms crossed, a black silhouette with both eyes glowing white, earphones in, a long hoodie and thigh-high socks, long hair streaming to the left in the wind. The tape opens with about 10 seconds of moving footage, then takes her through four stages: full force from the first track, something wakes up at track 6, it takes over at track 11, and her final form arrives with track 16. A short moving clip marks each change. The 808 shakes the picture, and the heaviest low end cuts it to the next shot. The car and the fog stay still; only she moves, breathing slowly. Each track shows its name in the lower left for the first few seconds. An aggressive dark phonk mix built on deep, distorted 808s that hit from the very first beat, dark cello riffs, crunchy, gritty highs, short female rap verses, and shouted hooks. A few tracks drop into a slower, Brazilian-style funk bounce with chopped vocal samples, two slow and heavy half-time tracks hit like a stomp, one faster track runs near the end, growling wobble bass shows up in places, and one track in the middle has no vocals. A few tracks cut in with one short spoken line. For night drives, the gym, a run, gaming, or any time you need to keep your foot down. 20 tracks, about three minutes each, just under an hour in total, opening with the title track. All 20 track names are in the list below. Put on headphones, or speakers with real low end, and let it hit. Ready for the next one?
