Combat Mission Cold War: Thermal Sights and You

The thermal sight systems on the M60A3 TTS and M1 tanks get a workout. Alongside laser range finders and computerized ballistics firing systems, the introduction of thermal sights would have likely played a huge role in NATO defense by making up for it's numerical inferiority. By being a passive system, the thermal sights would allow Western tank crews the ability to see in the dark and through battlefield smoke to give the West a real edge. Unfortunately, these systems are rare in the 1979-82 time frame. TLDR? Take the thermals if you can and use smoke to cover yourself.
