The band consists of Tahere on vocals, Daniel and Brad on guitars, Stef on bass and Kirk on drums.Their wide range of musical backgrounds add to their unique style, which consists of a heavy, groovy and melodic sound. They certainly don't fit into the 'normal' catogory of heavy metal. One of Kysers most valuable assets is that their live shows always sound just as good as their studio sound, which is a result of a motto that if it can't be played live, it's not worth playing. They deliver a high level of intensity at every gig, which combined with their musical dynamics equals a very entertaining show. Kyser are playing regularly around major venues in Sydney and have backed up many major Australian metal bands like Segression, Cryogenic, Downtime, The Hanging Tree and Psi-Kore. In March 1998, Kyser made their first studio appearance to record a seven track demo that sold succesfully when they first started on the live scene. By the end of 1998, and after considerable time on stage, Kyser entered Troy Horse studios to record their first album, 'Souls Awakened', which was engineered by Dave Trump and mastered by Ocsar Gaona at Studios 301. For an independent release, the album has been selling steadily and can be purchased from 'Utopia Records', 'Redeye Records', 'Sanity' at Fox Studios, as well as at every gig. Some of Kyser's more notable accolades are that they came first in a regional TAFE Band Competition, and then went on to become an impressive second in the NSW TAFE Band Competition. Recently they played two rounds at the Iron Duke Grassroots Competition before playing the grand final and out of a total of 50 bands they were chosen as number one. The prize consists of $500, recording time and 1000 cd's distributed by Phantom Records. This win was a major stepping stone for the young band, and they have now finished recording their new e.p, which this win helped to fund.
