Instead of treating every author as separate and intimidating, I group them through recurring literary archetypes: the Little Man, the Superfluous Man, the Confronting Man, and the Shattered modern figure. Across these four parts, this guide covers around fifteen authors and shows how they connect to one another, so the whole tradition starts to feel readable, alive, and surprisingly coherent.
