Join Liz Pennington from Ovarian Cancer Foundation NZ for an insightful webinar exploring the findings of the State of Ovarian Cancer in Aotearoa 2025 Report. This powerful report shines a light on one of New Zealand’s most significant women’s health challenges, where an average of 306 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer each year and one woman dies from the disease every 48 hours.
Drawing on the voices of wāhine living with ovarian cancer, their whānau, clinicians, researchers, advocates, and the wider public, this session will unpack the realities of ovarian cancer in Aotearoa today. Liz will explore key themes emerging from the report, challenge common myths and misconceptions, highlight areas where progress is being made, and discuss the critical changes needed to improve diagnosis, treatment, support, and outcomes for women across New Zealand.
Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the lived experiences behind the statistics, learn about the actions being advocated for at a national level, and discover how individuals, communities, and health professionals can contribute to meaningful change.
This webinar is ideal for women with lived experience, health professionals, advocates, policymakers, community organisations, and anyone passionate about improving the future of ovarian cancer care in Aotearoa.
