Kozhikode’s 650+ year old Mishkal Mosque 🕌 Hidden in the historic streets of Kuttichira, Kozhikode, stands the beautiful Mishkal Mosque, built by the Arab trader Nakhooda Mishkal centuries ago. But the most fascinating part of its story is from 1510. During a Portuguese attack on Kozhikode, the mosque was partially burned. The marks of that historic attack can still be seen today. It was later restored, and the mosque stands today as a symbol of history, resilience and cultural harmony.
