Join the crew here:    / @chorgantravels   We stayed for three nights from Sunday, August 16 to Wednesday, August 19 at site 25 - a fantastic full hook-up spot right on the scenic Bulkley River - to bring you this comprehensive look at the campground layout, facilities, and amenities! It is the perfect riverside home base or overnight stop while traveling through Northern BC. 📸 INSTAGRAM:   / chorgantravels   📋 CAMPGROUND SPECS & AMENITIES: 📍 Region: Northern BC / Bulkley Valley (Municipally Operated) ⛺ Campground: Riverside Municipal Campground & RV Park 📅 2026 Season Dates: May 15 – October 1, 2026 (Mid-May to mid-October window) 🛣️ Site Types: 43 total back-in sites ranging from 50–65 feet long. No pull-through sites available. 🔌 Hookups: Serviced sites feature full water, sewer, and 15 or 30-amp electrical hookups. Unserviced sites offer flat pads for RVs/tents, and tent sites offer grassy flat spaces. 🚘 Max Vehicle Length: Large driveways accommodating everything from cyclists to rigs & trailers up to 65 feet long. ⚡ Generator Hours: Quiet time is 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM (generators must be turned off). 🌳 Shade: Beautiful, open park-like layout offering unobstructed views of the Hudson Bay and Babine Mountains. 🛰️ Connectivity: Pristine, clear open views with zero Starlink obstruction! Free on-site Wi-Fi provided. 🚻 Restrooms: Modern shower house with clean, FREE hot showers and flush toilets, plus outhouses for campers and day users. 🧼 Amenities: Picnic table and fire pit at each site, playground, picnic shelter/communal cookhouse (book via Town of Smithers), and potable water taps. 🗺️ Proximity: 3843 19th Ave, Smithers. | 9.6 mi to Telkwa | 40 mi to Houston | 46 mi to Hazelton | 71 mi to Kitwanga | 89 mi to Burns Lake | 127 mi to Terrace | 166 mi to Meziadin Lake | 216 mi to Prince Rupert | 231 mi to Prince George. Flat, easy 15-minute walk or bike ride directly into downtown Smithers. ⏰ Times: Check-In 1:00 PM | Check-Out 11:00 AM. No early check-ins or late check-outs. Gates locked nightly 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. ⚠️ INSIDER ROAD TRIP & SAFETY UPDATES: 💲 Fees: 2026 rates: $45/night serviced, $35/night unserviced, $28/night tent. Full payment required upfront. Firewood is $10 to $12/bundle. Cash, debit, or credit accepted (No AMEX/checks; Canadian currency required). 🏠 Availability: Online reservations close 3 days prior to arrival. After that, empty sites are strictly First-Come, First-Served (FCFS). Group sites will not be coordinated by the town. 💧 Sani-Dump Alert: No public dump station on-site (serviced RV sites have individual sewer ports). For dry camping, use Canadian Tire (3221 BC-16) or the Smithers Visitor Centre (1411 Court St). 🦟 Bugs: Mosquitoes and biting flies can be active mid-summer near the river loops. 🐻 CRITICAL BEAR SAFETY: Heavy wildlife area. Do NOT clean fish at the campground. Secure ALL wildlife attractants (food, waste, coolers, toiletries) inside a locked vehicle or hard-sided trailer. Cast right from the bank! ⛷️ Skiing & Mountain Culture: Hudson Bay Mountain Resort offers world-class powder skiing in winter and alpine hiking in summer. 🦴 50-Million-Year-Old Fossils: Drive northeast to Driftwood Canyon Provincial Park to view a world-significant Eocene fossil bed with detailed insects and plants trapped in shale. 🥾 Local Hiking: Explore perimeter nature trails right from the campground or hike to the roaring Twin Falls Recreation Site.
