Decca Pure Analogue Is Back — Four New Releases

Decca’s Pure Analogue series returns with four new classical releases, and in this video I take an overview look at the latest titles in the series. Each has been produced through an entirely analog chain at Emil Berliner Studios, with mastering by Rainer Maillard, lacquer cutting by Sidney Meyer, and pressing by Pallas in Germany. The new releases include Mahler’s Symphonies Nos. 5 and 10 with Bernard Haitink and the Concertgebouw Orchestra; Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9, “From the New World” with Seiji Ozawa; Richard Strauss’s An Alpine Symphony with Sir Georg Solti and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra; and works by Edgard Varèse, including Arcana, Ionisation and Intégrales, with Zubin Mehta and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. The Mahler and Dvořák recordings originate from the Philips catalogue, while the Strauss and Varèse recordings come from Decca — all newly presented as part of the Pure Analogue series.
