Championship Manager 01/02 — How WIB/WOB, DMCs and Iodine Exploit the CM 01/02 Match Engine

I’ve been digging around in Championship Manager 01/02’s code recently with the same AI-assisted reverse-engineering as I used for CM 97/98. I wanted to see why the DMC position was so famously powerful in 01/02, what crowding the 6 yard box with WIB/WOB actually did to the match engine, and why formations like Iodine were so successful – in terms of the game code itself.
