Who You Voting For?

Inspired by rapper Meek Mill’s 2024 single, “Who You Voting For,” episode 17 of season 2 of Slingshot The Podcast breaks down the connection between politics and our everyday lives. From the price of groceries to gas and rent, politics affects us whether we’re “into it” or not. This conversation challenges us to look beyond the noise, get informed about the people asking for our vote, and recognize the power we have to hold elected officials accountable - and it starts at the ballot box. What we discuss: -Politics are into YOU: How political decisions shape our daily lives, from our wallets to our neighborhoods. -A timeline of the last 250 years of access to the ballot. -Know your ballot: Understanding the offices up for election and why state and federal races matter. -Your vote is bigger than you: Why showing up at the polls can help protect your community’s future -Get ready to vote! Making a voting plan, knowing where to find reliable election information, and understanding what to do if there’s a problem at the polls. Voting isn’t just about you. It’s about your community, the next generation, and the people whose voices aren’t always heard. Listen and subscribe on YouTube, or wherever you get your podcasts (Spotify, Apple, etc)
