The Mehao Wildlife Sanctuary Division has issued a public advisory following a tiger sighting on October 14 along the Roing-Anini road stretch between 19 km and 23 km. Speaking to DD News Arunachal, Samuel Changkija, IFS, PCCF (WL & BD) and Chief Wildlife Warden, urged commuters to remain vigilant while travelling through the sanctuary area. He said nakas have been set up on both the Roing and Anini sides to regulate movement and ensure public safety. Mito Rumi, ADCF/DFO, Mehao Wildlife Sanctuary, said two-wheelers have been completely prohibited along the stretch. Tourists and commuters have been advised to use four-wheelers and avoid night travel. The advisory also urges commuters not to stop along the stretch, keep vehicle windows closed and avoid getting out of vehicles. People have also been advised against entering nearby forests for trekking or collecting minor forest produce. Fresh tiger sightings should be reported to the Forest Department, district administration or police. Commuters may also contact Range Forest Officer Magone Linggi at 7085459372 or 9436221862.
