Homemade Mulberry Milk | Made with Fresh Mulberries from My Garden This year, my mulberry tree has given me the best harvest yet! With so many ripe, juicy mulberries growing in my garden, I wanted to try something different and make homemade mulberry milk. My family loves strawberry milk, so I thought, why not make a version using my own homegrown mulberries? It turned out beautifully delicious, with a lovely purple colour and soft pieces of fruit in every glass! In this video, I'll show you how I turn freshly harvested mulberries into a refreshing homemade mulberry milk. It's a simple and delicious way to enjoy the fruits from your own garden. HOMEMADE MULBERRY MILK RECIPE Ingredients 500 g fresh mulberries 250 g sugar (adjust to your taste) ½ teaspoon cinnamon powder 2 cups ice Approximately 1.25 litres cold milk (adjust to your preferred sweetness and consistency) Method Wash the freshly harvested mulberries thoroughly. Add the mulberries, sugar and cinnamon powder to a pot. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring gently as the berries begin to soften. Gently squeeze some of the berries with a spoon to release their juice and colour. Cook only until the berries soften. Don't overcook them into a jam! Turn off the heat and allow the mulberry mixture to cool completely. Add 2 cups of ice to a large jug. Pour in some of the cooled mulberry syrup. Don't add all the syrup at once! Start with a portion, then adjust the amount according to your preferred sweetness. Add the cold milk gradually, mixing well until you reach your desired taste and consistency. Serve chilled and enjoy your homemade mulberry milk! MY TIPS 💜 Adjust the sweetness: The amount of sugar and mulberry syrup can be adjusted to suit your taste. You don't have to use all the syrup. 💜 Choose your favourite texture: I love keeping the softened mulberries whole for a lovely fruity texture. If you prefer smooth mulberry milk, blend the cooked mulberries with a stick blender before cooling the mixture. 💜 Make it ahead: You can prepare the mulberry syrup in advance and refrigerate it in a clean, covered container. When you're ready to serve, add ice and milk. 💜 Storing leftover mulberry milk: Refrigerate promptly in a clean, covered jug and enjoy within 2–3 days for best quality. Keep it at or below 5°C, and discard it if it smells or looks unusual. Avoid leaving it at room temperature for extended periods. Have you ever tried making milk with mulberries?
