System Power is a two-chapter theological work distinguishing God's omniscience from control, arguing against Calvinist determinism from a free-will foundation. Chapter One ("Omniscience, Freedom, and the Fall") builds its central argument on the distinction between God knowing what will occur and God causing it to occur — illustrated through a chess grandmaster analogy — and extends this into an original argument from human reproductive biology: the ~250 million sperm involved in each conception represent genuine designed contingency, and since God's creation consistently "tells the truth about itself" (the heavens declare real glory, the conscience points to real morality), this biological design should be read as evidence of authentic randomness rather than hidden predetermination. The chapter distinguishes system responsibility (God's) from corruption responsibility (humanity's) for the Fall, proposes a "two-phase" model of salvation (genuine free entry into faith, followed by absolute, unconditional security once faith is placed — positioning itself as neither Calvinist nor classical Arminian), and directly engages Romans 8:29, Ephesians 1:4-5, and the "eternal now" solution to the logical entailment problem between foreknowledge and freedom. Chapter Two ("Omniscience, Freedom, and the Fall") mounts a sustained polemical case against Calvinism specifically: arguing predestination makes God's revealed desires ("God desires all to be saved") either dishonest or meaningless; that Matthew 23:37's weeping Jesus is incoherent if Jerusalem's rejection was predetermined (developed through an extended argument that self-generated grief over a self-constructed outcome resembles psychological pathology rather than genuine love, and ultimately constitutes a form of divine deception); that conscience, law, and the Great Commission presuppose genuine human capacity to respond; and that Scripture's warnings against believers "grieving the Holy Spirit" refute irresistible grace. 🎙️ New to streaming or looking to level up?
