BYE FLATPAK: Linux Mint / LMDE without Flatpak

Lately, I've been receiving frequent complaints that Linux Mint cannot be operated without Flatpak. As soon as Flatpak is removed, the application manager, or App Store, stops working. This issue affects both Linux Mint and LMDE.
