CASting a Wide Net: Helping Students Navigate Centralized Application Systems

Every year, hundreds of Wayne State students make the decision to apply to graduate school. Many of them will then be faced with the overwhelming task of filling out a centralized application in an online portal. This presentation will explore the student experience of completing the application, the admissions process of reviewing applications, and share techniques that advisors can use to support students through the process. Examples used during this training will apply to a wide range for programs including nursing, dietetics, public health, psychology, athletic training and more.   Presenters: Micala Cagle, Moira Fracassa, Laura Hetzler
