Catching up on the last few games of the Quality Tournament after a bit of a break — I got sick and then pretty burnt out on gaming for a while, but I'm finishing out the three replays from the channel I hadn't covered yet (you may have already caught these on Hejnewar's stream). First up: the semifinal between Matto (Dwarves) and NewbieA (Undead) on a map I haven't seen much of on ladder. NewB8 tries the "walking corpse spam" strategy that I'd previously seen Zyc use to great effect — but Matto's defensive dwarven wall and strong hill control. We talk through why Dark Adepts can ignore defensive terrain, the matchup's reliance on water/flanking routes to make real progress, and how a single bad movement count can turn a close game into a rout. #Wesnoth #BattleForWesnoth #WesnothTournament #StrategyGame #TurnBasedStrategy
