Eisenhower Never Expected Patton to Cross the Rhine Before Montgomery's Offensive Even Began

Eisenhower Never Expected Patton to Cross the Rhine Before Montgomery's Offensive Even Began Every army has that one commander who tears up the rulebook and dares everyone else to keep up, and Patton was exactly that kind of soldier. If you had been standing beside Eisenhower that morning, caught between rewarding Patton's bold initiative and keeping a fragile Allied coalition together, what call would you have made? Maybe someone in your own family served under a commander with Patton's same reckless confidence, or crossed a dangerous river just like the one at Oppenheim. Would you have backed Patton's gamble, or sided with a more cautious approach instead? Tell us your take, or your family's own story from the war, in the comments below, we would genuinely love to hear it. #Patton #WW2 #WorldWarII #MilitaryHistory 🇺🇸 Welcome to Patton's War Stories!
