A final thought after my walk: "Being in the woods reminds me of the peace that comes from acceptance. Everything there just is. The heron in the river doesn't try to be anything but a heron. The turtle isn't anything but a turtle. The trees just stay put. And for a moment, I too just get to be myself in the woods where there is no comparison and no one to impress.
