Saudi Arabia Is Building a 400M Giant Cube

Saudi Arabia is attempting to build one of the most extraordinary megastructures ever imagined — The Mukaab. Planned at an enormous 400 meters tall, 400 meters wide and 400 meters long, The Mukaab will become the centerpiece of New Murabba, Riyadh’s massive new downtown development. But this is not a conventional skyscraper. Inside the giant cube, plans include more than 2 million square meters of floor space, hotels, residences, offices, retail, restaurants, cultural attractions and enormous immersive digital experiences using technologies such as AI, holographic projection and advanced visual systems. The scale is almost unbelievable. The Mukaab is designed to completely transform Riyadh’s skyline and become one of the most recognizable architectural landmarks in Saudi Arabia. But can it actually be built? In this documentary, we explore: • What The Mukaab actually is • Why Saudi Arabia is building New Murabba • The incredible 400m × 400m × 400m scale • How large The Mukaab could become • The giant immersive interior • The engineering challenges • Excavation and construction progress • The billions required to build New Murabba • Funding and investment challenges • The technology needed inside the structure • Expo 2030 and Saudi Vision 2030 • Why the project could be developed in phases • And whether The Mukaab can actually become reality The project has already moved beyond its original concept stage. Major excavation has taken place at the site, while New Murabba continues developing Phase 1 infrastructure, mobility systems and utilities around Riyadh’s future downtown. But digging the foundations is only the beginning. Building a 400-meter cube containing an entire ecosystem of hotels, homes, offices, entertainment and futuristic technology will be an engineering challenge on an extraordinary scale. So will The Mukaab really become Saudi Arabia’s next global landmark? Or could this enormous cube become another megaproject where ambition moves faster than reality?
