Remember The Brave

Through my viewscreen, a distant star, It really doesn't look that far, But lightyears pass, No wasting time, My crew is working, My ship is prime Chorus Distant color beckons me, Into a black and starry sea, My viewscreen full of fleeting wonder, There's sometimes lightning, Never thunder Flash of colors on my screen, A solar flare and bright moonbeam, These wonders are not what we seek, We try to find our friends to speak, Lost in darkness was their plea, We're here for rescue, We have to see Chorus Pale, Regret, I wonder if their fate they met, Memory, Time, They all were innocent, They had no crime, Fear, Distress, We're moving fast to bring success In the distance, Can you see? A ship on fire, cannot be, We move in fast and hear a whisper, Their ship has lost their last resistor Chorus Quickly, We need to go, Get to the airlock, Fire suppressors stow, Get your spacesuits, I'll get mine, We need to rescue while there's time A fading voice, A flickered flame, The hallway's scorched, Who is to blame? We find the first and he is gone, No life, Now we need to move on Chorus We move between the rooms and decks, We find the lost, We run our checks, The ship destroyed we need to move, No more life here, Nothing to prove Outro As we return we see a glow, The broken ship, It's going to blow, We get in swiftly, I call the Conn, Move out now, Head for the dawn Explosions burst in silence, We're safe, I thank my pilots, We start to heal the ones we saved, We leave the place, Remember the brave
