Equity benchmarks traded with marginal gains in the afternoon session on Friday, with lower oil prices and positive global market trends supporting sentiment despite weakness in IT companies and several Tata Group stocks. The Nifty and Sensex are down 0.5% and 0.6%, respectively, so far this week, on course for a sixth consecutive weekly decline. Among Nifty 50 stocks, UltraTech, IndiGo, Shriram Finance, HDFC Bank and Dr Reddy’s were the top gainers. TMPV, TCS, Coal India, Wipro and Infosys were among the biggest drags. November Brent oil futures were at $103.85, down by 0.93 per cent, and October crude oil futures on WTI (West Texas Intermediate) were at $101.28, down by 0.62 per cent.
