The midlife crisis got a rebrand. Less red convertible, more Googling European homesteads at 1am. Every conversation I'm having with women my age lately sounds the same, and it's not about the car or the affair. It's about escape. Less noise, less politics, less of the world outside the front door. More land, more quiet, more building something with your own hands. In this video, I get into the quiet math that shows up in midlife (how many summers are left, how many years with your parents) and a contradiction I couldn't shake: I spent twenty years avoiding community on purpose, so why do I suddenly want to know my neighbors? Turns out it was never solitude versus connection. It was a filter. Community isn't proximity. And wanting the right people instead of the nearby ones isn't selfish.
