Calculating The Efficiency of Steam

I use my steam boiler every week. It's used to heat up mushroom substrate and keep it under heat until a partial sterilization is achieved. I have always wondered what the efficiency is, so decided to calculate it and see just how much energy I am wasting! The goal is to improve the amount of energy begin converted from electricity, into heat (steam) and going into my mushroom sterilization tank. The boiler is home made out of a stock pot. It has a 2500w element inside it, and is insulated. IT pumps out 2.88litres of steam per hour, and I am getting about 7500kJ out of a maximum theoretical 8500kJ possible.
